The spirit of the Rive Gauche
In 1890, at a time when the workshops were divided between the Rue Hautefeuille and the Rue des Beaux-Arts, Arthus-Bertrand settled just a stone's throw away, opposite Saint-Germain-des-Prés church, in a building originally intended to house a large store selling novelty gifts: "Aux Deux Magots".

Since then, Maison Arthus-Bertrand has felt at home in the Rive Gauche, that Romanesque village whose streets resonate with the footsteps of writers, artists and poets… where the paths of publishers cross those of couturiers and artists. It is a joyful and inventive world in which Arthus-Bertrand can feel free to express its true spirit with a subtle blend of tradition, creativity and frivolity.
